Weekly News Report:

1. From June 3 to June 5 at the Mana Convention Center in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, Miami is hosting the largest-ever cryptocurrency conference this week, expecting upwards of 50,000 attendees.

2. Coinbase Pro opens up to dogecoin after cryptocurrency’s 6,000% gain this year. Starting Tuesday, Coinbase Pro will accept inbound transfers of dogecoin.

3. Coinbase announced that its Coinbase card now works with Apple Pay and Google Pay, bringing cryptocurrency payments to Apple Pay on devices like the iPhone 12.

4. DBS, Southeast Asia’s largest bank, has launched its first security token offering (STO) on its cryptocurrency exchange. The DBS Digital Bond is priced at 15 million Singapore dollars (US$11.37 million).

5. PayPal plans to allow customers who hold cryptocurrency in their accounts to transfer the funds to external digital wallets rather than just hold or spend the money.

6. Apple recently posted a job for a “Business Development Manager — Alternative Payments”, which requires the candidates to have experience with handling cryptocurrency.

7. The world’s largest charity cryptocurrency ELONGATE announces National Kidney Foundation donations and upcoming projects such as the launch of a new website, merchandise, exchange, app, and NFTs.

8. A Frisco company in Texas is leading the way. Silver Energy has devised a way to use natural gas byproducts from oil wells to power computers that mine for Bitcoin.

9. The first-ever female-led PR agency, Wunderlich Kaplan Communications, announces that its Miami and New York based firm is accepting cryptocurrency as payment.

10. Bitcoin made its planned debut at America’s most famous car race, the Indianapolis 500. Ed Carpenter Racing’s (ECR) bitcoin sponsorship is among the latest examples of cryptocurrency mixing with professional sports.

11. Daymak Spiritus, launching in 2023, will be the world’s first electric car to mine cryptocurrency, from dogecoin to bitcoin, while it’s parked. Effective on June 1, Daymak is accepting Spiritus pre-order payments in a multitude of cryptocurrencies including Doge, Ethereum, Cardano, and Bitcoin, making it one of the first LEV manufacturers to do so.

12. The Riksbank plans to test its proposed central bank digital currency (CBDC) with Handelsbanken, Sweden’s largest bank. The e-krona is set to move from the simulation phase to a testing environment with external participants.

13. The ex-head of China’s digital currency initiative at the People’s Bank of China (PBoC) said CBDCs could operate on blockchain networks like Ethereum.

14. While the broader crypto market suffers through a painful slump, a new report on Monday indicates that Bitcoin miners in Argentina are thriving as they take advantage of convoluted energy policies.

15. After US President Joe Biden said he was targeting $ 6 trillion in stimulus, Edward Snowden commented on the situation and said it was good for Bitcoin.
